| KATHLEEN A. HALLION PROMOTED TO VICE PRESIDENT, ADVERTISING AT THE ALBANY TIMES UNION | |||
ALBANY, NY, March 14, 2006 – The Albany Times Union announced today that Kathleen A. Hallion has been promoted to vice president, advertising. Hallion, formerly advertising director, will be responsible for all of the Times Union advertising sales and operations. In announcing Hallion’s appointment, Mark E. Aldam, publisher of the Times Union commented: “This promotion recognizes Kathy’s leadership role in transforming the Times Union into a multi-media sales organization, fully integrating interactive solutions to complement the audiences the newspaper reaches for advertisers.” Hallion has spent most of her career at the Times Union in jobs of increasing responsibility in the sales departments of the newspaper during the past 27 years. She was promoted into management of the retail zone sales operations in 1992. Since then, Hallion has held leadership positions in both retail and classified advertising departments, most recently becoming advertising director in 1999 after rejoining the Times Union following a three-year tenure with The Hartford Courant, where she also held several advertising leadership positions. The Times Union is the leading daily newspaper covering New York’s Capital Region.
